Meet Steve.
Steve moved to Davidson County with his parents at the age of 14, and immediately knew he wanted to make Davidson County his home for life. He has proven himself to be a successful business owner of 30 years as the Owner/President of Jarvis Construction. Steve is a graduate of the UNC School of Government’s Advance Leadership Corps program and is a mentor with the Local Elected Leaders Academy.
Steve’s experience in the development of property in the county through contracting new housing, renovations, and light commercial work since 1990, has built a reputation of integrity for commercial building, fine home construction, and home improvements. It is this reputation that has earned his company a record in good standing with the Home Builders Association and Better Business Bureau. He is a person of faith and believes that God should take precedence over our lives.

Steve's tenure on the Davidson County Board of Commissioners and in the NC State House has been marked by his dedication to fiscal responsibility. Legislative Accomplishments.
During his tenure at the General Assembly, Steve has played a pivotal role in advancing key conservative achievements. In the 2023-2024 Legislative Session, the North Carolina General Assembly enacted several significant conservative victories. These include:

Repealing pistol purchase permit requirements.

Prohibiting gender reassignment surgeries for minors.

Ensuring that sports competitions are sex-specific to protect women's sports.

Requiring cooperation between sanctuary sheriffs and federal immigration agents (ICE) to remove criminal illegal aliens.
